On June 20, 2015 we made our way to our Local Track in Beggs, Oklahoma home of the LEVEL 5 Off-Road Racing series. We were the first to arrive and quickly set our pit area up and proceeded to walk the track to see what the track conditions would be like due to the recent weather. What we found was that the track was fairly hard packed and dry minus two corners, which were still pretty swamped from the recent rainstorm. Practice went very well with the only adjustment being a change in GBC Motorsports tires; we went from the Dirt Commanders to our normal tire of choice, which is the Kanati Mongrel. The tire change instantly turned the car into a whole new beast and gave us instant traction and we were officially "dialed in." We started the first heat race on the inside of the front row and surrendered the hole-shot by half of a tire to a new Can-am Turbo Maverick. After a big wreck involving the entire field minus the Maverick and myself we ended up going under the red flag and a full restart of the heat race. Again, on the hole-shot the Can-am and I went toe to toe and the race was on. We ended the first heat race in second place. In the second heat race we started in the back row but quickly found our way to the front. Carrying too much speed into a muddy corner my visor and tear-offs were covered in mud and I had to pull over and rip them all off due to the mud between the layers, causing me to surrender an upfront position. Due to cautions and battling my way up I found myself finishing the second heat race in second place. Now for the Feature, we started in the middle of the front row, finally got a great start taking the hole-shot and the battle was on. The 241 and I were nearly even headed down the front stretch and over the tabletop. Going into the first corner I went to the inside and the 241 went wide. From there on I never looked back. I was officially in the lead. After driving a pretty much smooth race minus one moment where I was way up high on two wheels I managed to save it and continue to hold onto the lead. We finished the race where we started up front and took home our first victory of the season. We would like to thank Pro Armor for keeping us locked in and comfortable in the car with seats and harnesses. Assault Industries UTV for a great set of mirrors, which allows us to see our competition clearly, and for the Tie Rods keeping the front of our machine sturdy. Of course we have to thank STI Tire & Wheel for the great set of Alloy Bead-lock wheels that we wrapped our GBC Tires around to give us great traction.
